A Hybrid Iterative Algorithm of Amplitude Weighting and Phase Gradient Descent for Generating Phase-Only Fourier Hologram

Reconstruction of target images from phase-only hologram (POH) has the advantages high diffraction efficiency and no conjugate terms. The Gerchberg-Saxton (GS) algorithm is a classical applied to recover phase, but it most likely stagnantes after few iterations. This paper proposes hybrid iterative Amplitude Weighting Phase Gradient Descent (AW-PGD) generate higher-quality POH. Firstly, quadratic phase used as initial zero-pads periphery image, then multiplies two form complex amplitude value. During iteration, reconstructed image constrained by an adaptive dynamic exponential term in signal region improve reconstruction accuracy, constraint non-signal relaxed reduce computational effort at same time; gradient descent technology increase iteration step speed up convergence. Finally, based on generated numerical simulation results show that does not have significant time cost with better quality than GS, Weighted GS (WGS) Adaptive (AWGS) algorithm.
